Professor Al-Abadie is a fully accredited Dermatologist within the GMC. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Dermatology, Sheffield (PhD), Diploma in Dermatology, Cardiff (DSBD), Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) London, FRCP (Edinburgh) and FRCP (Glasgow), Membership of the European Academy of Dermatology (EADV) and Formal International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Professor Al-Abadie is currently the Clinical Director and Consultant Dermatologist for North Cumbria integrated NHS Foundation Trust. Previously and since 1997 he was a Consultant Dermatologist and in the latter years was a Clinical Director at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. He comes with extensive experience as a Consultant, Clinical Lead, Director and Academic.
His academic career includes holding Honorary University contracts as Clinical Lecturer, Clinical Senior Lecturer and Professor currently at the University of Central Lancashire Medical School (UCLAN). He is an examiner for OSCE, Speciality Board and Medical Doctorate Degree (MD). Previously he was Clinical Lead for teaching medical students and Senior Academy Tutor.

Laura is a qualified registered nurse with additional training as an ophthalmic nurse. She has over 10 years’ experience in ophthalmic nursing and is very familiar with all the different needs of patients with eye problems.
As well as knowing how to give clear explanations to patients and keeping them well informed, she is also skilled in other extended roles such as performing eye scans, intravitreal injections, assisting with eye surgery and glaucoma monitoring.

Carly is a qualified registered nurse with additional training as an ophthalmic nurse. She has also had training as a nurse specialist for conditions affecting the external eye such as Dry Eye disease (DED), blepharitis management and managing patients with symptoms of watery eye or gritty eye symptoms.
She has an interest eye and facial aesthetics and provides various therapies for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction.

Jenny commenced her nursing career in 1975. After obtaining a master’s degree at Birmingham University in 1995 she spent years advancing nursing practice in the medical retina sub-speciality. She has a keen interest in research and has worked on many research studies both in the fields of corneal diseases and medical retinal disorders.
In early 2000, Jenny took her clinical experience to work in the pharmaceutical industry where she gained extensive experience before returning to the NHS in 2005 to continue specialising in Medical retinal diseases.
Jenny was among the early cohort of specialist macula nurses involved in intravitreal injections for macular degeneration. She has carried out many thousands of intravitreal injections and has also been involved in training many new nurses in this role. She was involved in research projects and clinical trials developing new treatments for macular degeneration as part of national and international multicentre clinical trial projects.
Following a long stint as specialist nurse practitioner in macular diseases at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, Jenny moved on to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a macular specialist nurse practitioner. In both hospitals, Jenny held very senior roles and was involved in independently diagnosing and treating macular degeneration and is one of the most experienced and senior ophthalmic nurse practitioners in the country.
She has represented the Royal College of nursing on NICE appraisals for retinal treatments, presented many papers at international meetings and is co-author on a number of publications.
Jenny brings her vast experience as one of the most experienced and senior ophthalmic nurse practitioners in the country to Paragon Clinic where she is a Consultant Nurse Specialist and Matron.

Mr. Yadav (MBChB (Hons), BMedSci Neuroscience (Hons), FRCOphth) qualified as a doctor in 2010 having received a University scholarship. He completed his ophthalmology training in the Northwest including advanced oculoplastics training and high-volume cataract surgery. He has also undertaken an intense training fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
He has published many articles in respected journals covering a wide variety of ophthalmology subspecialties. He has also presented his research at several international conferences. He is an invited reviewer for a number of journals including the British Journal of Ophthalmology. Mr Yadav continuously reviews and audits his work to ensure he maintains a high professional standard.
As well as his private work, Mr Yadav is a full-time consultant ophthalmologist specialising in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery in the NHS. He is also in charge of the emergency eye care services at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. He takes an active role in the training of medical students, junior doctors and allied professionals. In addition, he has taught cataract and oculoplastic surgery techniques to junior eye surgeons.

As a highly experienced Consultant ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist at the University Hospital of North Midlands, Stoke on Trent, Mrs Ranjit has been leading the glaucoma service since 2010. She provides a tertiary level glaucoma service for patients in the North Midlands and Shropshire. Professor Niro Narendran is Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, with an interest in Medical Retina at the Wolverhampton and Midland Counties Eye Infirmary. She is also the Training Programme Director at the School of Ophthalmology, Health Education England West Midlands. In addition, she holds the position of Honorary Professor at the School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University, Birmingham.
After qualifying in Medicine from the University of London, Prof. Narendran completed her MD from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and also underwent Higher Ophthalmic Surgical training in the West Midlands.
She is a specialist in Medical retinal diseases and leads the wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration Service at the Wolverhampton and Midland Counties Eye Infirmary which is one of the busiest units in the West Midlands
Having been a Royal College of Ophthalmologists Tutor for 5 years Prof. Narendran was appointed as Training Programme Director for the School of Ophthalmology, and then as Head of School of Ophthalmology at the Health Education West Midlands training the next generation of eye consultants.
Prof. Narendran has more than 50 publications in major international journals and is considered an authority in macular diseases.

Mr. Gregory Ho-Yen is a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. He undertook his post-graduate training in the London and Cambridge Deaneries, before completing Fellowships at Barts and Moorfields.

Richard Dias developed an interest in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery very early in his career while doing Plastic Surgery as an Intern in 1990. After his basic surgical training he completed his Specialist Training on the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme. He went on to do a Hand Fellowship at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre under the mentorship of Professor Frank Burke, followed by an Upper Limb Fellowship and finally took up post as a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon in Wolverhampton.
During his hand fellowship he had the opportunity to work with Professor F Burke and Dr M. Garcia-Elias, both of whom are internationally renowned for their contributions to the development of hand and wrist surgery.
As a consultant he continuously attempts to update his knowledge and techniques thereby giving the best possible care to his patients. As a consultant he has travelled around Europe to learn and evaluate new techniques in hand and upper limb surgery, that he could offer his patients. As a visiting surgeon he has spent time with Dr S O’Driscoll (elbow surgery) at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, Professor O Levy (shoulder surgery) at the Reading Shoulder Unit and Professor Lennard Funk (shoulder surgery) in Manchester.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Birmingham and the Clinical Lead for orthopaedic undergraduate education at his institution. He also mentors physiotherapists for their MSc degree. He is very involved in teaching and education and participates as faculty in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

He has been a full-time consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust since 1998. He has extensive experience in general ophthalmology but also sub-specializes in conditions affecting the retina such as macular degeneration, central serous retinopathy, vascular occlusions, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, genetic retinal problems, and complex eye conditions.
He is very enthusiastic in clinical research and training for which he is internationally acclaimed. Currently he has published over 130 scientific papers and is actively involved with cataract surgery teaching programme for trainee ophthalmologists at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Mr Balaggan specialises in state of-the-art modern micro-incision sutureless vitrectomy surgery. Mr Thomas Jenyon is a consultant eye surgeon at Paragon Clinic and an NHS consultant ophthalmologist at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. He specialises in micro-incision cataract and lens surgery, as well as corneal and external eye disease. His cataract expertise includes complex cases, patients with previous laser refractive surgery, astigmatism and the use of premium lenses to reduce spectacle dependence.
He trained at University College London where he qualified with distinction, and within the West Midlands. He gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians and is a Fellow at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. His work on refractive outcomes has been recognised by national and international prizes.
For his contribution to medical education in the West Midlands he has received the Recognising Excellence in Medical Education award twice and continues to teach cataract and corneal surgery to the next generation of corneal surgeons at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
