Safeguarding Policy

Our Statement for Safeguarding Children and Adults

Safeguarding is a high priority at Paragon Clinic. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults, children, young people and vulnerable individuals who may come into contact with our services. All staff have a responsibility to recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Safeguarding encompasses a range of activities, from promoting health, wellbeing and welfare to protecting individuals from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm.

Safeguarding is Everyone's Responsibility

Paragon Clinic has arrangements in place that reflect the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults. These arrangements include safeguarding policies and procedures that are regularly reviewed and updated in line with current legislation, national guidance and local safeguarding requirements.

Safeguarding Commitments

Paragon Clinic is committed to ensuring that:

  • The Clinic Directors and Management Team provide leadership and oversight of safeguarding arrangements.
  • Safe recruitment and selection procedures are followed, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where appropriate.
  • Clear procedures are in place for staff to raise concerns, including concerns about the conduct of colleagues or other professionals.
  • Staff receive appropriate safeguarding training and support relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Individuals are treated with dignity, respect and compassion, and their views and wishes are listened to whenever possible.
  • A culture of safety, equality, diversity and inclusion is promoted throughout the clinic.
  • Information is shared appropriately with relevant professionals and agencies where there are safeguarding concerns, in accordance with legal and professional requirements.
  • A designated Safeguarding Lead is appointed and supported to fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities.

Paragon Clinic recognises that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to working collaboratively with local authorities, health professionals, statutory agencies and other relevant organisations to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and adults at risk.
